Violence Prevention Resource Directory
- The Epidemiology and Prevention for Injury Control (EPIC) Branch, sponsor of this directory, does not provide direct services for victims or perpetrators of violence.
- If you are in immediate danger, call 911.
- If you are being abused call the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-799-7233 or 1-800-787-3224 (TTY) or visit www.ndvh.org
- If you have been raped or experienced sexual violence, call the National Sexual Assault Hotline at 1-800-656-4673 or visit www.rainn.org
- Please try to use a safe computer that someone abusive does not have direct access to, or even remote (hacking) access to, such as a computer in a public library, at a trusted friend's house, or at an Internet Cafe. Also, traditional "corded" phones are more private than cellular phones or cordless phones.
This publication lists county-specific resources for domestic violence, sexual violence, child and elder abuse. The following categories of services are listed for each county: Domestic Violence Victim/Prevention Services, Domestic Violence Shelter Services, Sexual Violence (Rape) Victim/Prevention Services, Victim/Witness Services, Child Protective Services, Adult Protective Services, and Batterers Intervention Programs (Approved).
The purpose of this directory is to provide information on local resources. Inclusion in the directory does not imply endorsement or recommendation by the California Department of Public Health, Epidemiology and Prevention for Injury Control (EPIC) Branch.
- If you are from an organization whose information has changed since we listed it in the directory, please let us know what we need to change using this online form.
- If you would like to be considered for inclusion in the directory, please request to be added to the directory using this online form. We review these requests monthly.
