Proposed Amendments to Title 17, Section 2500

 

1)         Amend Section 2500(a)(8) to read as follows:

 

'Director' means State Director of Public Health Services.

 

2)         Amend Section 2500(g) to read as follows:

 

Upon the State Department of Public Health’s Services' request, a local health department shall provide to the Department the information reported pursuant to this section. Absent the individual's written consent, no information that would directly or indirectly identify the case or suspected case as an individual who has applied for or been given services for alcohol or other drug abuse by a federally assisted drug or alcohol abuse treatment program (as defined in federal law at 42 C.F.R. Section 2.11) shall be included.

 

3)         Amend Section 2500(j) to add to the list of diseases and conditions, in alphabetical order, as follows:

        

   Staphylococcus aureus infection (only a case resulting in death or admission to an intensive care unit of a person who has not been hospitalized or had surgery, dialysis, or residency in a long-term care facility in the past year, and did not have an indwelling catheter or percutaneous medical device at the time of culture.)

Proposed Amendments to Title 17, Section 2502

 

1)         Amend Heading to read as follows:

 

§ 2502.  Reports by Local Health Officer to State Department of Public Health Services.

  

2)         Amend Section 2502(b) to add to the list of diseases and conditions, in alphabetical order, as follows:

 

Staphylococcus aureus infection (only a case resulting in death or admission to an intensive care unit of a person who has not been hospitalized or had surgery, dialysis, or residency in a long-term care facility in the past year, and did not have an indwelling catheter or percutaneous medical device at the time of culture.)
