State Public Health Subvention Program

The State Public Health Subvention (SPHS) Program provides $1 million in State General Funds to eligible cities and county health jurisdictions within the State of California to help offset the costs of providing needed public health services to county residents.  All counties and the cities of Berkeley, Long Beach, and Pasadena receive SPHS funds.  These funds may be used for health program administration, the delivery of local public health services, or the prevention and control of infectious and communicable diseases.
