Informational Sheets
The California Safe Cosmetics Program (CSCP) developed the following three information sheets with input from the CSCP Stakeholder Planning Committee and approval by CDPH’s Office of Legal Services. The information contained in these documents was taken from the law that created the California Safe Cosmetics Act of 2005 and the federal rules referenced in the Act.
Chemical List
The California Safe Cosmetics Act of 2005 requires cosmetics companies to report products that contain chemicals known or suspected to cause cancer, birth defects, or reproductive harm. This information will be reported to the California Department of Public Health. To assist companies with reporting, the California Safe Cosmetics Program has compiled a list of these chemicals using reports and lists from authoritative bodies.
